What is PIRKA?
PIRKA(saPporo medical university library Integrated Retrieval & Archival system), also means "lovely" in AINU word, is based on Ex Libris's SFX software. PIRKA mainly offeres the following services towards the citation results from a search via Ovid Online, PubMed and so on. For each results, PIRKA will search the available options and generate a list of links.

How do I use it?
Before you begin, please login Cubby and select Sapporo Medical University ( the PIRKA icon ) as the Outside Tool.
Search PubMed as usual, then look for the PIRKA icon 
at the abstracts.
Clicking on the PIRKA icon generates a list of of the services available for that particular article.
Select one of the services by clicking on arrow button 
.
Please follow the necessary steps per services after the select. As for the Document copy request, please refer to the following section.

Select "Holdings in Sapmed OPAC" by clicking on arrow button .ˇĘsee FigureŁ±ˇË

A pop-up window will appear that links you to the holding information. If the results shows "0 Journals", please click on "To Literature Copy Request".(see Figure2) Even if the library owns a particular item, click on the item name then take you to the next screen. You will find "To Literature Copy Request" at the bottom.

When Authentication screen appeares, please enter User ID and Password then click on "Authentication" button. (see Figure3)

Review information such as Paper Title, Author of Paper, Book/Journal title, your name, e-mail address and so on, then click on "Request" bottun. (Figure4)

Review "Document Copy Request Confirmation", then close the browser. (Figure5)
