保健医療学研究科では、学位授与方針に掲げた能力を有する人材を育成するため、以下の方針で教育課程を編成、実施します。

保健医療学研究科（博士課程前期・博士課程後期）の教育
保健医療学研究科は、看護学専攻、理学療法学・作業療法学専攻を置き、それぞれに博士課程前期（修士）
と博士課程後期（博士）の課
程を設置しています。
博士課程前期は、広い視野に立って精深な学識を授け、専攻分野における研究能力や高度な専門性を要する職業等に必要な能力を養う
ことを目的に、平成10年４月に設置されました。看護学専攻では、専門分野の研究能力を高める修士論文コースのほか、平成18年から専門看

ｓｔ＝ＣＮＳ）コースを設置し、質の高い実践者育成のプログラムも用意しています。
博士課程後期は、専門分野について、研究者として自立して研究活動を行い、また、高度に専門的な業務に従事するために必要な研究能
力及びその基礎となる豊かな学識を養うことを目的に、理学療法学・作業療法学専攻は平成12年４月に、また、看護学専攻は平成18年４月
に設置されました。
本研究科では、地域社会の信頼に応え得る、自立・自律した保健医療人を育成するために、多様なニーズに対応できるプログラムの充実、
専門分野の学問及び学術活動の発展を目指し、研究・指導体制を整えています。また、在職のまま就学できる社会人に配慮した入試制度や
時間割を用意し、長期履修制度（博士課程前期のみ）
を実施しています。
大学院修了後は、その分野のリーダーとして北海道はもとより、国際的に活躍できる専門職となることが期待されています。

The Graduate School of Health Sciences aims to develop practitioners and researchers with high levels of specialized knowledge, practical skills and
research skills to contribute to the development of nursing, physical therapy and occupational therapy and the improvement of quality in health,
medical care and welfare services. To accomplish this, individuals with the following qualities are sought:
1. Individuals who have a deep interest in issues related to health, medical care and welfare services and desire to develop and solve problems in
those fields
2. Individuals who have professional knowledge and skills in nursing, physical therapy and occupational therapy and have critical/logical thinking skills
and scientific curiosity
3. Individuals who wish to acquire outstanding practical skills in their specialized fields to respond to diversified and complicated human needs
4. Individuals who have a genuine sense of humanity and ethics and wish to contribute to people’s heath from an international perspective
In order to develop human resources with the abilities listed in the diploma policy, the Graduate School of Health Sciences organizes and implements a
curriculum based on the policy outlined below.
1. To teach advanced, broad knowledge and skills by offering highly professional subjects
2. To develop scientific problem-solving ability through the development of advanced research processes
3. To develop skills as an educator through opportunities to be involved in educational activities (e.g., teaching assistant)
4. To foster an ability to cooperate with people in different professions through opportunities for interdisciplinary exchanges
5. To develop presentation and communication skills through opportunities to give presentations domestically and internationally (e.g., oral defense of a
dissertation, academic conferences) and to write papers
The Graduate School of Health Sciences comprises the Nursing Program and the Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Program and each
program has a Master’s Program and Doctoral Program.
The Master’s Program was established in April 1998 to provide students with profound knowledge from a broad perspective and cultivate research
capabilities for their specialties and the skills necessary for occupations that require high expertise. On the Nursing Course, there are the Master’s
Thesis Course, which helps students to improve their research capability in their specialized field, and the Certified Nurse Specialist (CNS) Course,
which was established in 2006, to develop high-quality practitioners.
The purpose of the Doctoral Program is to foster research capabilities necessary for the students to conduct independent research activities in their
major fields or engage in other highly professional tasks, and to acquire knowledge that forms the basis of such capabilities. The Graduate Program for
Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy and the Graduate Program for Nursing were established in April 2000 and April 2006, respectively.
The Graduate School of Health Sciences has research and instruction systems to provide programs which meet diversified needs and to support the
development of related academic fields and their activities, and that additionally foster independent and self-directed healthcare professionals who can
fulfill the trust placed in them by local communities. The school also offers working adults an entrance exam system, class schedule and extended
coursework period (for the Master’s Program only).
After completing the graduate program, students are expected not only to become leaders in their specialized field but also specialists who can play an
active role in the international community.
The Graduate School of Health Sciences confers a degree to individuals who have acquired the required credits in each specialized course, passed
the review of their research achievements (e.g., theses), and fulfill the following.
